Migration guide
Switch from Chargeflow to Victava
~10 minutes. Four steps. No double-billing on disputes already in Chargeflow's pipeline. No data loss. Here's the exact sequence.
Before you start
- Run the Free Dispute Leak Audit first. We'll connect Stripe + Shopify in 90 seconds, scan the last 12 months, and show you a recovery number. If the number doesn't justify switching, don't switch.
- Don't cancel Chargeflow until you have the audit number. Their existing pipeline keeps working until you actively uninstall.
- Disputes already submitted via Chargeflow stay theirs. We don't touch them; you don't double-pay; the existing outcome timeline applies.
- You'll need ~10 minutes and access to your Stripe Dashboard, Shopify Admin, and (briefly) Chargeflow Dashboard.
The 4-step migration
- 1
Connect Victava to Stripe + Shopify
2 minSign up for Victava at /signup. OAuth into Stripe and Shopify. We use the same Stripe connector that everyone else uses (no special permissions); for Shopify we ask for read scopes on orders, fulfillments, and customers — the standard chargeback-defense scope set.
Wait for the Free Dispute Leak Audit to finish (~30 seconds). Read the recovery number. If it's lower than what Chargeflow has charged you, stop here — switching may not be worth it.
- 2
Pause new dispute submissions in Chargeflow
2 minIn Chargeflow, navigate to Settings → Automation. Toggle “Pause new submissions” (sometimes called “Delay submissions for internal review”). This freezes Chargeflow's pipeline so they don't pick up disputes that arrive after this point.
Disputes already in their pipeline (already submitted, awaiting outcome) keep flowing through their original timeline. They stay billed at Chargeflow's 25% rate. We don't bill you on them.
If you can't find the toggle: Chargeflow uses Shopify Collaborator access rather than a standard app connector, so the pause may be in your Chargeflow account dashboard rather than in Shopify Admin. If you can't locate it, email support@chargeflow.io and ask for “temporary submission pause for migration.”
- 3
Approve a few real disputes through Victava
variesWait for the next chargeback to land. Victava's pipeline kicks off automatically: classify → gather evidence from Stripe, Shopify, your helpdesk and carriers → score the expected value → draft rebuttal → ready for your approval. You get an email + in-app notification.
Open the dispute in our dashboard. Read the case brief (~30 seconds). Click Approve if it looks right, or Edit to adjust evidence or narrative. The Stripe submission happens at click time.
We bill 20% of recovered revenue when the dispute is won. $0 if it's lost. $0 if you skip the case.
- 4
Cancel Chargeflow once your last dispute resolves
3 minWait until every dispute that was already in Chargeflow's pipeline has hit a terminal status (Won / Lost). This usually takes 30–90 days post-submission. Then cancel.
In Chargeflow: Settings → Account → Cancel subscription. Optionally, ask them to remove their Shopify Collaborator access (Shopify Admin → Settings → Users → Remove the Chargeflow collaborator).
Heads up: a few Shopify App Store reviewers report a $100 temporary card hold during Chargeflow setup. If you're trialling both, monitor your card statement. The hold should release on its own; if not, dispute it via your card issuer.
What changes for you
| Dimension | Before (Chargeflow) | After (Victava) |
|---|---|---|
| Per-win fee | 25% of recovered amount | 20% of recovered amount (33% cheaper take rate) |
| Submission flow | Auto-submit unless you opted into “Delay submissions” | Mandatory approval before every submission |
| Per-evidence-item provenance | Not surfaced | Source API + endpoint + field path + retrieval timestamp on every evidence row |
| Pre-chargeback alerts | $29/alert via Verifi/Ethoca/RDR | Not in V1 (build on request) |
| Shopify integration | Collaborator access (broad admin-style) | Standard OAuth scopes (read-only on orders, fulfillments, customers) |
| Win-rate methodology | “4x your win rate” — point estimate, intentional-fraud excluded from denominator | Live published win rate with honest confidence bounds; methodology cited on /win-rate |
Common questions
Will Chargeflow notice I'm trialling Victava?
No. They use Stripe webhooks the same way we do. Both apps can be installed simultaneously. Whichever submits first locks the dispute (Stripe enforces single-submission per case), so you control the cutover by toggling the Chargeflow pause.
What happens to disputes Chargeflow already submitted?
They stay theirs. The Stripe API tracks submission_count per dispute; once submitted, it can't be re-fought. The outcome flows through their pipeline on the original timeline. They bill you their 25% rate if the dispute wins.
What if Chargeflow billed me for a dispute that already resolved?
Their billing is on the recovered_amount. If the recovery is correct, the bill is correct. If you suspect an error, request an itemized invoice — Victava doesn't have access to their books, but their support team can pull it.
Can I run Victava's audit without uninstalling Chargeflow?
Yes — that's the recommended path. Run the audit first, see what we'd have recovered, then decide. Chargeflow doesn't see Victava's read-only OAuth, and our audit doesn't trigger any submissions.
Do I lose my Chargeflow history?
Their internal history stays in their dashboard until you cancel. Stripe holds the canonical dispute history; both Chargeflow and Victava build on top of that, so there's no data loss either way.
What if I want to come back to Chargeflow?
You can re-install at any time. Both products use standard Stripe + Shopify connectors; switching back is the same pause-then-cancel sequence in reverse. We won't try to keep you if you're not getting value.
Is there a switching incentive?
First 10 Victava merchants get 10% on win for their first 12 months (vs the standard 20%). If you're switching from Chargeflow's 25%, that's a 60% reduction in take rate for your first year. Email support@victava.com and reference this guide to confirm the discount before signing up.
Run the audit before you switch.
The Free Dispute Leak Audit shows what Victava would have recovered on your last 12 months of disputes — including the ones Chargeflow already handled. No card, no commitment, no obligation to switch.
